    FRAUD ALLERT!! After years and years of car rentals without any incidents, I rented for the first time from GOLD CAR because it was recommended by a website called BILLIGER-MIETWAGEN.DE. it was absolutly horrible! days fter i've returned the car I checked my credit card charges and to my surprise saw an enourmus bill of 2000 EURO, without any explanation, email or letter (on top of the usual rental fee). only after I've called I received a damages letter which was hillarious. there were 2 scratches that were so tiny they cannot be seen with a magnifying glass - and they charged the excess of EURO 500 twice, one per each scratch!!! i've also been charged with an extra 300 EURO to which they offered no explanations... avoid avoid avoid

    Goldcar is operating with hidden fees. My contract from cartrawler (third party booking site) delivered a contract for 1 week hire: 152 EUR. Goldcar charged me additional 100 EUR for insurance, even though I clearly stated I didn't want any additional insurance when I picked up the rental car from the airport. Customer services said it was stated in the contract, which I'm sure of. But when you say you don't want any extra insurance you shouldn't be charged for it. Think twice before using Goldcar!

    The pictures that were emailed were confirmed by a Graphic Designer to have been printed and scanned. This makes it impossible to confirm when the original digital photo was taken, as all digital photos store when the image was taken. This makes it impossible for the customer to prove if the photo was taken after their rental!

    I contacted my bank and provided all this information to them and after they investigated, they removed the initial charge and blocked all subsequent charges to my credit card that Goldcar tried to make in connection with this matter. My bank were fantastic in sorting this out!

    I had used Goldcar many times over the years in Palma and never had any problems but I used them for the last time last year. After dropping the keys off with no problems I was subsequently emailed two photos a few days after the rental which are below. The picture of the damage does not show the car registration and as I had not damaged the car, I asked for more clarification. I received no response.

    If you use Goldcar then insist that one of their staff walks around the car with you when you drop it off and wait for them to do it. They ask you to just drop the keys off when you leave and this allows them to create such scenarios as this one.

    They taking deposit for everything and then you have wait ages to take your money back. Worst service ever! Avoid!

    Rented from these people recently and had no trouble whatsoever. Staff at the airport were helpful, courteous and very pleasent. It's out if season so there was no queue. There were no marks on the vehicle on collection and none on returning it. My deposit was refunded within 24 hours. I appreciate others might have had problems with this business but I didn't and based on my personal experience, would recommend them.
